Christmas in July — Day 2: The Magic of Small Steps

Small Steps Add Up

It’s easy to think that tidying a sock drawer isn’t much of an achievement. But honestly? That's exactly the point.

Small steps add up. I never sit down and say, “Today I’m going to clean the whole house.” That’s a recipe for frustration (and, let’s be honest, I'll probably giving up halfway through).

Instead, I break it down:

  • Clean the kitchen windowsill.
  • Hoover just the downstairs.
  • Tidy one drawer.

These small chunks are manageable, realistic, and actually get done. And once they’re done, you feel lighter — because you’ve kept your promise to yourself.

✅ So, what did Day 2 look like?

Food cupboard time.

I cleared out:

  • 1 very out-of-date jar of Marmite (tragic as I love Marmite).
  • 3 bottles of expired vinegar (why did I have so many?!).
  • Put other items like semolina and cheesy beans either expired or expiring on the kitchen counter to use

Everything was sorted and either recycled, cleaned, or disposed of responsibly. It wasn’t glamorous, but it felt satisfying — and now there’s more space for the things we actually use.

💼 The Bigger Win?

Alongside all that, I also made a start on something completely different — mapping out a my networking strategy for future opportunities and collaborations. A reminder that not all “wins” are physical tasks; sometimes they’re plans, ideas, or quiet progress behind the scenes.

✨ Today’s Takeaway:

Small steps. Small spaces. Small actions. It’s not about doing it all — it’s about doing something.

Little wins, big shifts.
