When deciding how to launch Linden Connect, I wanted to start with something personal—something meaningful, fun, and rooted in tradition. That’s when Christmas in July came to mind. Not just the name, but the entire feeling behind it. The spark was lit years ago when I discovered that the Hallmark Channel ran Christmas movies in July. Watching those festive films in the middle of summer became a guilty pleasure, and surprisingly, it stuck.

Then something even more special happened. July, as many parents know, can be a hard month—especially for children who find school a challenge. My own child often struggles through the last stretch of the school year. The days feel long, motivation dips, and the energy to push through can run thin. So we created our own version of “Christmas in July” as a way to bring a little magic and motivation into that tough month.

We get down a single Christmas tree ( just the one—we have three at Christmas proper!) and set up a mini advent calendar. Small surprises led up to July 25th, when we exchange little gifts and enjoy a special day together. It gaves us something to look forward to. It changed the tone of the month. And now, it’s a tradition—one filled with twinkle lights, joyful anticipation, and small wins.

That’s why it felt so right to begin Linden Connect with a Christmas in July Challenge.

Linden Connect is all about creating forward momentum, connection, and positive wins—especially when things feel heavy or stuck. Just like our family tradition, this challenge is about turning a difficult time into something joyful and meaningful. It’s a reminder that a little light (and maybe a fairy light or two) can go a long way.
